剧集介绍：
河南中部三河镇的风铃寨，以烧制出上好的钧瓷而出名，故事就从当地的三大窑主贺家、叶家和杨家中展开。贺家的大儿子贺青因参加“五四运动”遭到追杀，他历尽艰险逃回风铃寨却又被当地警察发现，不得已逃到湖北武汉，参加了京汉铁路总工会，最后参加共产党，加入新四军。贺青的弟弟贺晨亡命上海滩，逐渐成为冷血杀手，甚至叛国当了汉奸。贺焰生在二儿子贺晨的逼迫下自杀身亡，贺晨最后死在哥哥的枪下。叶飞霞为解决叶家财产问题而放弃了自己的感情，嫁给三河镇的富商之子邓绍宣，并接管了邓家的商铺和生意。她侠胆义肠，帮助共产党与日本人周旋，相继成立船队、建立河上运输线来开展抗日工作。杨运来因和贺家、叶家联合抵制军阀而被禁止烧窑后家境败落，被逼卖妻卖女后自杀身亡，其女杨豫凤颠沛流离最终加入中国共产党。
